Follow the feeding guide on the pack — it's based on your dog's weight and life stage, and calorie density varies a lot between recipes, so a generic per-kg rule isn't accurate across brands. Reassess every couple of weeks using body condition (you should be able to feel, but not see, the ribs) and ask a vet if your dog has a health condition.
Dry kibble is calorie-dense and convenient; wet food has far higher moisture and is often more palatable for fussy eaters; raw diets can work well but need careful handling and nutritional balancing to avoid deficiencies. Compare protein, fat and kcal/100g directly rather than judging by format alone.
