Wafcol (the Worcestershire Animal Food Company) was founded in the 1930s and became known for specialist sensitive diets, particularly its salmon and potato recipes using minimal ingredient lists to avoid allergic reactions. The brand passed to Nottingham-based Armitage Pet Care, which US group Spectrum Brands acquired. Wafcol has more recently announced the discontinuation of its dry food products.
