Hill's pet food began in 1939 when Dr Mark Morris Sr developed a kidney diet (Canine k/d) canned by Burton Hill's packing company in Topeka, Kansas. The Science Plan line launched through vets in 1968 and the company became a Colgate-Palmolive subsidiary. In the UK it is a leading vet-recommended brand via Science Plan and Prescription Diet ranges.
