Winalot was founded in 1927 by Spillers Ltd, originally as biscuits for racing greyhounds, and became a brand leader in the 1930s. Nestlé acquired the Spillers business in 1998 and Winalot is now marketed by Nestlé Purina PetCare. It is one of the UK's biggest-selling mainstream dog food brands, best known for wet pouches.
